Infected dog bite with pus?

i got bit by a dog saturday, and it was pretty bad it sucked BIGG time...but anyways when i went to the ER instead of doing stitches they put on derma bond (aka medical super glue) and its been healing well, swellings gone down and the bruise isn't as noticiable but now there's puss on it and it looks really gross but when i went to my regular doctor today for a follow up appointment she saw the pus there and said it was okay because there is no other signs of an infection, plus im taking a antibiotic so my question is, is puss ALWAYS a bad sign?
